Description
Overview
The classic variant of Glen Plaid was named for Edward VII—he wore the check-on-check pattern, mostly in black and brown wool suits, while fox-hunting, or whatever it is the Prince of Wales might do for outdoor sport.
Ours is woven by the shirting masters, Thomas Mason, with 60's single-ply compact yarns, similar to a 120's two-ply, but with a slightly smoother finish than their non-compact counterparts. This regal purple from one of the world's greatest shirting mills will add a bit of panache to a conservative business wardrobe.

Founded in 1796 by its namesake during the height of the English Industrial Revolution, Thomas Mason has become synonymous with quality shirting and classic English style. The tradition continues to this day, with the mill generally regarded as one of the finest shirting weavers in the world.

This is a fine crisp fabric with great color. I think it might work better with a barrel cuff rather than French cuffs given the fabric is so light.

Wow, I have had this shirt for almost 3 years and it is still in heavy rotation. It has been worn, washed, pressed over 100 times now and it still looks good and still gets compliments. It gets through the day without major wrinkles and still looks fresh for happy hour.
Seth C. (Brooklyn, NY)
Classic pattern in an interesting color. It's a little tough to match, but I still wear it often.
Devon G. (Chicago, IL)
Great, strong fabric that holds up well. Made in Europe by Thomas Mason which is a plus
Jason M. (Conifer, CO)
