Overview
Our monochrome oxfords are woven with the same color yarn in both the warp (vertical) and the weft (horizontal), which gives them a deep color saturation not found in the traditional oxford, where white yarns are interspersed to mute the color.
Woven with the same hefty 40’s two-ply yarns as our Campus Oxfords, these have the same rugged feel you’d expect in an oxford. Combined with the deeply saturated colors, these oxfords make a bold statement in your fall and winter wardrobe.
Our black buttons make an excellent choice if you're going for the full monochromatic look, but also consider brown buttons to offset the starkness of the black.

Love the rich dark black color. The Oxford weave adds a bit of textual interest to the shirt. Very heavy and substantial, seems beefier than the other oxfords from Ratio.

A nice, clean, cool black. It's a darker shade than most of my other black shirts. It's also a tighter weave than my other black OCBDs. It's got good weight, without feeling too heavy. I honestly don't think I could imagine a better fabric for Oxfords.

The overview for shirts with this fabric uses words like "hefty" and "rugged," and they're not kidding. It is not stiff or canvassy, but this is also not a whisper-light poplin or buttery-soft "shirting" like the venerable OCBDs you may have in your closet. Granted, I've only had the shirt a few days, which is why I'm giving this four stars instead of five. I have confidence that, as I wear the shirt a lot (as I plan to), and wash it frequently, it will break in more and achieve a certain venerability of its own.
